Gina Judy

From Richmond Ohio, Gina is a retired Ohio K-12 public-school art-educator of thirty-plus years. A Steubenville native, she now lives in Richmond with her husband of thirty-five years and has two grown-daughters, a son-in-law and a new granddaughter named “Nora”. In 1993 she won the Citizen of the Year Award from Wintersville, Ohio for her summer-volunteer work with forty students painting a local-65-foot mural. She holds an MA and BA in Art Education from Ohio University Main Campus and Bethany College, (WV). She is currently Recording Secretary of the Pittsburgh Society of Artists, a juried member since 1984. Returning to her college first-love of watercolor, she also works with large-scale acrylic canvas painting, pastel, printmaking, and mixed-media. She often enjoys life-drawing and loves to plein-air paint, recently winning first-place and Best of Show in the last-three Wheeling, WV regional plein-air competitions at ARTWORKS AROUND TOWN. She is a Signature Watercolor Society member in Spokane, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Pikes Peak (CO), NorthStar (MN), Montana, Louisiana, Kentucky, Red River (CO), Alaska, Rhode Island, and Ohio. She also screened and was accepted as a signature-member of the Woman’s Art Club of Cincinnati and the National Association of Women Artists where she has been included in their New-Signature-Member show in New York City and signature-member shows in New Jersey. Some recent watercolor accomplishments include an award and acceptances in the last three Adirondacks Annual National Exhibitions of American Watercolors, an award in the 2023 Center for the Arts Evergreen Rocky Mountain National, and an award in the 2023 NorthStar National Watermedia Exhibition. She also received one of four juror’s awards in the Pittsburgh Society of Artists 2023 Juried Annual and her painting selected for their Ekphrastic Poetry Event this year. She was in 2024 exhibited at Eisele Gallery, Cincinnati, in the nationally-screened VIEWPOINT 56, and the Zanesville Museum of Art’s 78th Ohio Annual. In 2025, she was accepted into the prestigious North West Watercolor Society’s Online Member show, which only took 18% of entries.
